Morning Camps
Session 1: July 23 - July 27, 2012
10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
BUTTERFLY GARDENS A-1 (Ages 4,5)
Welcome to the wonderful world of butterfly gardens! Look closely at the caterpillars that will turn into beautiful butterflies. Observe the many different types & their unique color patterns. Find out what types of flowers are best for drawing butterflies. Color, paint pictures and learn to make beautiful butterfly jewelry.
STAR WARS I A-2 (Ages 4-6)
Attention all Jedi knights! This camp will explore all the things you need to to know to be a full Jedi Knight. Fight against the Separatists, the Droids & the Sith. race against time to invent a new energy source or robot to defend your planet. (Bring your lightsaber to learn fencing moves.)
CAKE POPS, CAKE BALLS & CAKESICLES A-3 (Ages 5-7)
Come to this camp and make some real eye candy. Learn the tricks and trades of making cake pops, cake balls & cakesicles. We’ll Dip ‘em, Decorate ‘em and Devour ‘em. What a yummy camp (especially for your tummy).
LEGO ENGINEERING (Level 1) A-4 (Ages 6-7)
Use your imagination and skill to become a Lego Engineer. Together we'll envision new ways to create cars, robots, buildings and bridges. We'll even learn how to motorize these new creations so they can move!
THE MAGIC OF MIXED MEDIA PAINTING A-5 (Ages 6-8)
Create a chalk art piece, throw on some water color, tissue paper, and Voila! Youv'e got a magic mixed-up media painting. Or how about some acrylic sponge painting on glass or plastic? AND we'll be creative enough to mimic Monet, Degas, Klimt & other great artists.
RACE TO THE SUN A-6 (Ages 8-11)
Build solar and wind-powered projects such as ovens, cars and windmills. Be on the cutting edge of the renewable energy movement.
LEGO LABORATORY (Level 2) A-7 (Ages 8-11)Are you an experienced Lego maniac? This class is for you. We'll use Lego's Technic Control Center to build with over 220 different Lego elements including: gears, pulleys, beams, lamps and more. You'll also experiment with programming to make the Legos respond to your commands!

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY A-8 (Ages 8-11)
LOOK! AIM! SHOOT! Learn how to be a great photographer! Take photos of people, objects & scenery and then crop and adjust for great pictures. Find out how to adjust your color palette & look for depth & breath in a photo. Note: students must bring an inexpensive digital camera.

DISNEY PRINCESSES B-2 (Ages 4-6)
As the fairy godmother says, "Salagadoola menchicka boola bibbidi-bobbidi-boo!" Become a princess and create some magic of your own with Cinderella, Ariel, snow white, Jasmine & Belle. Join us to create magic wands and princess hats with beautiful beads and sequins. Pick your favorite princess and help act out her story.
ARTSY-CRAFTSY KIDS B-3 (Ages 5-7)
Be an Artsy-Craftsy artist! Make dancing animals, marker masks, picture
frames, balloon people and much more.
Find out how making crafts is a breeze, and so much fun as we finish our
projects and show them to everyone.
LEGO ENGINEERING (Level 1) B-4 (Ages 6, 7)
Use your imagination and skill to become a Lego Engineer. Together we'll
envision new ways to create cars, robots, buildings and bridges. We'll
even learn how to motorize these new creations so they can move!
AMERICAN GIRL CONVENTION B-5 (Ages 6-8)
Calling all "American Girls" to the 2012 convention! Meet Lanie, the new American Girl of the year--who is a backyard explorer. Join Kristen as you learn the skill of weaving from 1854. Create Hispanic art with Josephina and Indian jewelry with Kaya, Don't forget to bring your own doll for our tea party!

BUILD A ROBOT B-8 (Ages 8-11)
For 27 years we've been training the next generation of robotic engineers! Learn how a robot is built and some of the common (and not so common uses) of robots in everyday life. As a team, we'll build from scratch a "soccer" robot and a "jungle" robot. Additional Materials fee: of $20 - but you'll get to take home your own miniature robot!

MICKEY MOUSE SCIENCE EXPERIMENTS C-1 (Ages 5-6)
Join Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and the other Disney characters as we do simple and fun science experiments dealing with air, water, weather and plants.
COSTUMES, MASKS & DRAMA = FUN C-2 (Ages 4-6)
Put on some funky costumes, make some colorful masks and let the drama begin. Well have a great time being creative and acting out some funny and silly short plays. Well even have a grand performance on the last day of camp!
STAR WARS II: THE SAGA CONTINUES C-3 (Ages 6-8)
Attention all Jedi knights! This camp will explore all the things you need
to to know to be a full Jedi Knight. Fight against the Separatists,
the Droids & the Sith. race against time to invent a new energy
source or robot to defend your planet. You can also test your skills
with the Jedi Force Trainer - a maze tower with wireless headset (Bring
your lightsaber to learn fencing moves.)

CLAY SCULPTURE C-5 (Ages 8-11)
Come and learn the fine art of sculpture and how to
make “creations in CLAY”. You will learn
how to make pots, vases, animal models, human figures and more. Go to this class to explore the sculpturing
artist that’s inside you!

WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE AN AUTHOR C-7 (Ages 6-9)
Have you ever thought about writing a book? This class will take you through creative writing activities for different styles including: blogs, newspapers and magazines. Let loose your budding novelist within.
BEGINNING GUITAR C-8 (Ages 8-11)
Have you ever thought about being in a band? Start by learning how to play a guitar. You
will learn basic fingering, how to read music, tune a guitar and how to play
several basic sons. Note: Students must bring a guitar to this camp
(they can be rented at several music store
locations).

PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN D-1 (Ages 4-6)
Ahoy Maties! Its time to come to our island and be a pirate for a week. Well make treasure chests and play the hidden treasure game. Lets make Jolly Roger swords and hats. Then well have a battle for the ships in the lagoon and all the gold doubloons!

SUPERHEROES D-4 (Ages 5-7)_
Join Spiderman, Superman,
Wonder Woman and Batman as they help save the world. Assist them in their fight against the
villains of the planet. We’ll create
some capes and costumes to help us act our favorite hero. Let’s go “up, up & away” to work your
super powers!
TIE DYE FANTASTIC D-5 (Ages 6-8)
Have a great time making brilliant & colorful tie dye shirts, jackets & art. Learn the different techniques of tie dye such as Batik, Heart & Splatter. Use fabric paints and 3D paint pens to add designs to your creations. Note: bring articles of clothing and materials that you want to tie dye!

CHEMISTRY EXPERIMENTS - LET'S MAKE IT HAPPEN D-7 (Ages 8-11)
What is carbon chemistry? What chemicals make us happy? Whats the point of catalysts? Become a chemist for a week and examine everything from mud to acids and gas to explosive powders. Well perform numerous experiments to reveal the chemicals that make it happen.
